Emerging Pathologist Award

Nature of the Award:

The title of the award will be the “Emerging Pathology Educator Award”. The award will be non-monetary, except that GRIPE may pay some portion of the recipient’s transportation expenses (amount to be determined by the Executive Committee) to attend our annual meeting and accept the award.

Presentation of the Award:

The award will be presented at the annual meeting. The award need not be presented each year if the Award Committee is unable to select an awardee (see “Selection Criteria” below).

Selection Criteria:

The award is meant to recognize educators that have been teaching pathology for less than 10 years that have demonstrated exemplary passion, innovation, or effectiveness in their courses.  While the awardee is not required to be a GRIPE member, candidates should be nominated by at least two members, each at separate institutions. Letters of support must include testimony from at least two of the candidate’s learners. The selection will be done from among the nominees by an “Award Committee” consisting of four immediate past presidents of GRIPE. For a nominee to be selected by the Committee, a minimum of 3 votes is needed from among the Committee members. Awards will be given in all three categories (certificate, Letter to their Chair, and recognition on the website).

You can find the submission form for this award here.

Application Deadline: October 15th
