Excellence in International Pathology Education Award

Nature of the Award:

The title of the award will be the “Excellence in International Pathology Education”. The award will be non-monetary, except that GRIPE will pay some portion of the recipient’s transportation expenses (amount to be determined by the Executive Committee) to attend our annual meeting and accept the award.

Presentation of the Award:

The award will be presented at the annual meeting. The award need not be presented each year if the Award Committee is unable to select an awardee (see “Selection Process” below).

Selection criteria:

The emphasis will be on contributions to Pathology education globally by enhancing the teaching of Pathology at medical institutions in multiple locations outside of North America. Priority will be given to individuals who expand the teaching of Pathology in areas of limited resources and who are able to demonstrate impact. Candidates should be nominated by a minimum of 3 GRIPE members, each in separate institutions. Letters of support must include testimony of the nominee’s contributions at their medical institution outside of North America. The selection will be done from among the nominees by an “Award Committee” consisting of four immediate past presidents of GRIPE. For a nominee to be selected by the Committee, a minimum of 3 votes is needed from among the Committee members.
